So, back in September my friends daughter was involved in a schoolyard fight.  You can read previous posts for the story.

Yesterday, she took responsibility for her actions and plead guilty and was sentenced for assault.  The "victim" and the "victim's" mother were in court for the sentencing.  The mother is an illegal alien from Iraq, she overstayed her visa and is now in the US illegally.

The mother got up to address the court and rambled on for over 20 minutes on how her daughter is now completely incapacitated and basically mentally retarded because she was hit in the face by my friends daughter.  The daughter was made up to look pathetic.  She had on some sunglasses and sat with her head down the entire time.

The mother's impassioned plea for drawing and quartering was painful.  The only problem is that it was a complete fabrication.  The defense attorney was able to make a statement that her story was fantastic and was not supported by the evidence.  The friends daughter was sentenced to probation and community service as the court had recommended.

After leaving the courtroom, as I was heading out the front door of the courthouse, I looked over to where the supposed victim was standing, and she is laughing and carrying on with her friends, smoking a cigarette in front of her mother.  This girl is 16 years old.  I think they thought they pulled something over on the court.

I only wish the mother could be charged for lying to the court with her fantastic story, but it is another life lesson.  So, enjoy the Brady Bunch clip.  I thought of this clip when I came home yesterday.

As a footnote, the mother has been turned in to immigration so we'll see if anything is done, probably not.
